Consulate Process:

  • First create an account from the below given link to fill US Visa (Immigrant & Non-Immigrant) Application Form - https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/.
  • You will be sent an application submission receipt via email with an Application ID and bar code. You’ll need to take a print of the DS-160 confirmation page with the bar code on it as you’ll need to submit it at the time of your interview
  • Create another account from the below given link to pay the visa fee and book an appointment - https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/
  • After filling the visa form and paying the visa fee, applicants need to make an appointment to appear for an interview at the US Embassy and the Visa Application Center closest to you.
  • On the interview day applicants need to carry original copies of all mandatory and supporting documents which include:
  • passport
  • visa application form
  • application fee receipt
  • appointment letter
  • income tax returns up to 3 years
  • Employment records
  • Invitation and Sponsorship letter from invitee in USA
  • After reaching the U.S Embassy or Visa Application center the applicants are required to provide their biometrics which includes the applicants fingerprints and digital photograph.
  • Once the biometrics is done the applicants is directed to waiting lounge where you have to wait for your turn.
  • Once the interview is done and if interviewer approves your application you will know immediately
  • If approved the passport will be sent to your mailing address within 3-4 business days or you may be allowed to pick up your passport in person
  • If denied or put on hold you will be informed accordingly and you will be able to pick your passport soon after interview.

Note:

  • The fee is non-refundable for all the visa categories.
  • Electronic equipment, cell phones, bags, sprays, perfumes, liquids, backpacks, bottles, food, sealed envelopes, sealed packages, and dangerous items are not allowed inside the consulate.
  • You have to dispose the prohibited items before the entry in case if you brought them.
